After your SSC result, a first question stands in front of you is, ‘what will you do next?’ Whether you choose less stress, easy study or go with extra mile route.
From now, wherever you go first question that hammer on you is “what are you going to do next?” Many students find this question as frustrating & intimidating as they are yet not clear about their career or how to reach there.
Here is the time when you have to take important decision of your life related to your career. Else you will end up with spoiling your future due to less knowledge of career guidance & making wrong decisions.
I would like to suggest some things to many parents who expect high from their child. Every person has a unique strength, skills and set of knowledge. So their career will be unique as their skill set. Hence, don’t force them to go with field which they can’t handle. Consequently, you will find them in deep depression and destroyed future. Learn to identify & respect their choices.
Some people think that; will decide after 12th so we have lots of time. But it’s always better to be early. This is right time to give shape to your career.
Let us have look on streams that students can choose after 10th:
1) Science :
Science is most chosen stream for 10 + 2 education as it opens many career option including medicines & engineering. Also it keeps an option open for you, i.e. a student can select arts or commerce stream after pursuing science in 10 + 2.
In this stream, you have to take at least 6 subjects including 1 compulsory language. You have subject options like Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, Biology, IT, Computer Science, etc. One can choose according to their career needs.
2) Commerce :
This is the second most popular stream chosen by students. Commerce stream also leads towards many job opportunities Banking, Chartered Accountant, Accounts & Financial Advisor, etc.
In this stream also you have to choose 6 subjects including 3 major subjects Accountancy, Economics & business law. Commerce colleges offers subjects like accountancy, Business Law, Economics, Auditing, Income Tax, Marketing, etc. Select your subjects keeping your career in mind.
3) Arts :
This is uncommon stream among students; still it opens many career options like Journalism, Literature, Social Work, Teaching, etc.
Like above 2 streams, in this stream also you have to select 6 subjects including 1 compulsory language and other optional language. Remaining 4 major subject options are History, Psychology, Sociology, political Science, Philosophy, Literature, Economics, etc.
